Today was sooo hot! I think it was like 100 degrees or over... and it is so dry that there are all these so. cali. fires!
It is not even May yet, so you can probably understand why I am freaking out about having an outdoor reception in June of next year. ugh. I keep doubting myself for letting King HappyBerry talk me into moving our reception from the beautiful ballroom at the skirball out to the taper courtyard. But he really has such few "pressing" requests for our wedding and let's me basically have all the details I want, so I figured it would only be fair.
Well, everyone at the church bbq today was kinda' freaking out when I told them that our reception was gonna be outdoors in June. So I came home and looked up some weather stuffs and apparently we don't have too much to worry about. But knowing me... I will still worry :)
Here is what weather underground reports (they analyze the past 30 years of weather on that particular date in your particular area and then give you the odds and ends and all that good stuff. It is meant to help you plan trips, but you can also use it to plan for weddings!
According to this one we can plan on a warm, but not hot day between high 60s and low 70s.

There is a 30% chance of a Humid Day (dew point over 65°F / 18°C). (9 days out of 30 in historical record) Most consecutive days found in historic record: 1 |
The LA Times has another great tool that allows you to see the weather at anytime of the day from any day in history and tells you the mean temperature but also record highs/lows and respective years.
This one also gives me much peace of mind. By the time cocktail hour (which is inside the Ruby Gallery at the Skirball) is over and guests go outside to the Courtyard for the dinner reception the temperature should be in the low 70s but there may be a slight chance of wind. boo.
But I guess we will just have to pray and trust it to God, as King HappyBerry always reminds me :)
