Sucker for Succulents and JL Designs!

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

When I received the very talented Carissa's tweet about launching JL Designs new Holiday Collection I headed straight to her new site and was not disappointed! Just take a gander at the beauties!!

I know I just posted about succulents, but they are such a perfect alternative to the traditional floral arrangements and work really well for the holiday season. Also, unlike Christmas trees (which I LOVE), you won't have to throw them out after the new year. JL designs puts such a fresh, clean and chic spin on the holiday season, I feel a renewed sense of the spirit! And as much as I love succulents, I am all over those balsa wood flowers and the grapewood branches. I have been trying to convince some of my brides that grapewood branches may be a better alternative element for their wedding rather than the more common manzanita branches, and these images will totally help to prove my point!

This isn't the first time you are seeing JL Designs work on my blog. She also provided the floral designs for the Sweet and Saucy dessert bar I featured here.  But some of my favorite work by Carrisa has to be for the multiple photoshoots she has worked on - it's no wonder she is continuously being asked to collaborate on such stunning pieces of art. I particularly love the Alternative Bridesmaid's Dresses shoot she worked on for Utterly Engaged.

All images via JL Designs blog. You need to check it out for some more serious eye candy and inspiration! Aren't the bouquets above so yummy?! My favorites are the ones in the second row. Those fluffy, blush pink garden roses are so beautifully textured and heavenly... I swear I can smell them!
