Safari Meets City Photo Shoot Featured on Utterly Engaged, 100 Layer Cake and Ruffled Blog!

Hello lovely readers!

I hope that you all had a fun Halloween and are gearing up for a cozy and lovely Thanksgiving holiday. Can you believe how quickly this year has flown by?? I have to admit - I have been counting the days to Thanksgiving, in particular. Not only because I love turkey and spending time with family... but because the day AFTER Thanksgiving, it is totally permissible and sane to go out and buy a Christmas tree! :)

I love Christmas and admit, I have been itching to spend it with our little family. Baby elle was too "baby" on her first official Christmas, last year, to really enjoy anything at all. The only picture I even have with her in her Christmas gear is asleep in her car seat. But this year, I plan to deck out our home and baby elle in holiday garb every day of the month - perhaps well into the new year? Is that crazy? :) For this reason, I actually made sure to not book weddings in the month of December so that I could spend quality time with our family. I hope you are all able to make the same room in your schedules as well. There is not a day that goes by when I don't thank God for the family, friends and job that I have... but it was a very busy year and I am also very thankful for a little down time with my baby girl who is quickly becoming a toddler girl. :)

Speaking of busy! I am so excited to finally share some images from a shoot that kept us very busy back in July. I had too much fun working with Lucia, an editor of Utterly Engaged Magazine, design and style an amazing shoot that was used for the insanely talented Caroline Tran's Propel Workshop. If you are familiar with the shoots that I work on, we always start with a story, and ours was "She’s a city girl, that has a big heart and love for Africa.  He’s a southern gentlemen who loves big adventures. Consumed with love they eloped and married among their closest friends and family in an intimate celebration for twelve."

I haven't received all of the images yet, but here are some of my favorites and you can also see more in the newest issue of Utterly Engaged, or in the features on 100 Layer Cake and Ruffled Blog. I am totally honored that our work was featured on such fab sites! I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed working on putting them together. :)

I love the ceremony space at Saddlerock and these amazing glass pieces and benches from Found Vintage Rentals were the perfect complement to the space! I have been dying to use King Protea and Kangaroo Paw at a wedding and was so excited to incorporate them into our shoot. They may be some of my fave florals now!

We also had the pleasure of setting up a fun "getting ready" location for our bride. I was happy to finally use this coral fainting couch and throw in some feathers, lace and bling for good measure.

I am personally very in love with the table scape that we came up with and think it was the perfect marriage of rustic safari elegance and metallic bling. Inviting Occasion and Art With Nature totally kicked it out of the park with the florals and I have never seen such lovely and fresh blooms.

Lucia and DL/sh Designs captured our concept

And let's just have a moment of silence for this dessert display. I had these wooden swings created from  reclaimed wood to add some fun dimension to the tablescape and they were so worth the trouble of installing them on the high tree branches!

Aren't these florals the perfect finishing touch on the swings?

And how can I finish this post without the obligatory zebra and door-to-nowhere images that every Saddlerock Wedding should have? :)

Hope this provided some inspiration and a lovely mid week, pick me up!
Have a fun rest of your week!!
